Ethics and Civics Classic + Plentiful Traditions Extra Perks - Ascension Paths Patch
Stellaris 4.4 | compatibility patch | requires Ethics and Civics Classic, Plentiful Traditions and Plentiful Traditions Extra Perks
What this patch does
Plentiful Traditions Extra Perks changes the four ascension-path perks
Engineered Evolution, The Flesh Is Weak, Synthetic Evolution and
Mind over Matter: it lets an empire that finished Plentiful Traditions' Genetic-Cyborg tradition combine the genetic and cybernetic paths, and it adds a fitting research option when a path is taken. Ethics and Civics Classic redefines the same four perks for its own civics and AI. Stellaris keeps only the last definition it reads (by file name), so with both mods enabled E&C's versions win and
PTEP's ascension-path changes are silently lost - the Genetic-Cyborg tradition then promises something that does not work.
This patch provides merged definitions containing both mods' changes.
When you need it
Only if you run
both Ethics and Civics Classic and Plentiful Traditions Extra Perks (with Plentiful Traditions). Without the patch nothing crashes - PTEP's multi-path option and its research options simply don't appear.
How the conflict is resolved / what is kept
Base text = E&C's versions (E&C's civic exceptions for its Khan/despoiler civics, its Machine-Cult psionics rule, its AI weights). Merged in from PTEP:
- Engineered Evolution and The Flesh Is Weak can be taken alongside the other one once tr_plentiful_genetic_cyborg_finish is active (E&C's Khan civic exceptions stay).
- Cyborg empires with that tradition are no longer blocked from Engineered Evolution (PTEP removed the cyborg restriction entirely; this patch lifts it only when the tradition is active).
- PTEP's research options on taking a path: Neuro-Quantum Links (Flesh Is Weak), Synthetic Leaders (Synthetic Evolution), Telepathy (Mind over Matter).
Where both mods disagree on something unrelated to PTEP's feature (e.g. AI weights), E&C's behaviour is kept. PTEP's other path perks (Organo-Machine Interfacing, Synthetic Age) are not touched by E&C and stay as PTEP defines them.
Load order
Does not matter - the patch works by file name (
zzz_). Placing it below all three mods is good practice.
