Ethics and Civics Classic + Worthy Ascension Perks - Compatibility Patch
Stellaris 4.4 | compatibility patch | requires Ethics and Civics Classic and Worthy Ascension Perks
What this patch does
Both mods redefine the same four vanilla ascension perks:
Detox, Lord of War, Mastery of Nature and
Nihilistic Acquisition. Stellaris keeps only the last definition it reads (decided by file name, not by load order), so with both mods enabled Ethics and Civics Classic's versions win and
Worthy's reworks of these four perks are silently lost - no Ambition/Capstone effects, no extra modifiers.
This patch provides merged definitions that contain both mods' changes.
When you need it
Only if you run
both Ethics and Civics Classic and Worthy Ascension Perks. Everything else in both mods is unaffected either way.
How the conflict is resolved / what is kept
Base text = Worthy's reworked perks, with E&C's rules merged in:
- Detox - Worthy's Toxic Knights / Voidworm options and modifiers are back; E&C's rule that the Early Space Age origin needs Terrestrial Sculpting (instead of Climate Restoration) is kept. Nomadic empires still cannot take Detox (vanilla/Worthy behaviour).
- Lord of War - Worthy's Ambition effect (doubled enclave capacity) is back; E&C's AI preference for its corporate-military civics is kept.
- Mastery of Nature - Worthy's Ambition/Capstone effects and +1 urban district on new colonies are back; E&C's rule that Ecocentrists cannot take the perk and E&C's AI weights are kept.
- Nihilistic Acquisition - Worthy's slave-market/slave-output modifiers and Capstone effect are back; E&C's despoiler civic variants still exclude the perk (they grant raiding anyway).
Nothing else is changed. Arcology Project is only modified by E&C and therefore not touched.
Load order
Does not matter - the patch works by file name (
zzz_) and wins regardless of position. Placing it below both mods is still good practice.
(Also using
Plentiful Traditions 4.x - Extra Perks? Its vanilla-perk copy overrides all other Worthy perks - use the separate
Plentiful Traditions Extra Perks - Vanilla Perk Override Fix as well.)
Required mods
Ethics and Civics Classic (Primitive Nomad Update) |
Worthy Ascension Perks (4.4)
Notes
- One file, no new content, no text of its own (uses both mods' existing tooltips). Safe to add or remove mid-game.
- Kept in sync with the current versions of both mods; if either mod changes these four perks again the patch will be updated.
